ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia woman was sentenced to six months in prison for selling a prescription drug that made it harder for a man to get pregnant.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Richard E. Brown announced Wednesday that he will sentence Maricopa County into a unified term of five years of probation and a six-month suspended sentence, after a series of drug-related offenses. He will begin in the morning on Oct. 28, pending a hearing and sentencing.
“The defendant is determined to be a danger to the community, and that’s why he was required to follow the law,” Brown said in a news release. “The defendant has not committed any crimes or done any conduct that would put a greater risk on his health or safety.”
The drugmaker had a record for selling prescription drugs in the United States in 2001, and has more than $50 million in sales in Georgia. The Food and Drug Administration approved a new prescription drug for the treatment of ADHD in 2002, which the FDA found to be an “overdose” of the drug.
